Weil’s Disease

This disease is carried by rodents in the UK and is normally transferred to humans via contact with a water source that has been contaminated by a rodents urine.

In most cases the symptoms of infection are similar to those of the flu but 10% of the people who are infected can suffer from organ failure and internal bleeding which may result in death.

  • Chills
  • Headaches
  • Muscle Ache
  • Sickness and Vomiting
  • Cough
  • Loss of appetite¬†

Lyme Disease

Rats and Mice will often carry ticks which will also pose a serious health risk as they are the carriers of this disease. It is passed on to humans if they are bitten by the tick.

Symptoms are a fever, fatigue, headache, sore joints and if untreated can effect the heart and nervous system.

Rodents also carry Salmonella and Hantavirus.
